Water Quality is Everything
The saying goes: 'We don't keep koi — we keep water.' Test your pond water weekly for ammonia, nitrite, pH, and KH. Healthy water means healthy fish.
Feed by Season
In spring and autumn, use wheatgerm-based food that's easy to digest. In summer, switch to high-protein growth food. Stop feeding below 6°C in winter.
Quarantine New Fish
Always quarantine new koi for 2–4 weeks before adding them to your main pond. This protects your existing fish from parasites and disease.
